Catholic religious icon processions held in Poland

Several religious processions involving copies of significant Marian icons are taking place within the Catholic Church in Poland.

In Kalwaria Pacławska, a copy of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Kalwaria (the ‘Listening’ Mother of God) was consecrated during a Mass led by Bishop Edward Kawa. This icon is set to be transferred to the cathedral in Kamianets-Podilskyi, returning to the location where the original image resided before arriving in Kalwaria Pacławska.

Simultaneously, the Diocese of Świdnica is preparing for a historic pilgrimage of a faithful replica of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa. This specific copy, created in 1957 by artist Leonard Torwirt, will travel through various parishes in the diocese. Bishop Marek Mendyk noted that this marks the first time the Świdnica Church is hosting the icon as a distinct diocese, following a walking pilgrimage to Jasna Góra by approximately 1,000 participants.
