CazéTV sets YouTube record as Senacon probes betting ads during World Cup

During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Brazil’s CazéTV channel on YouTube broke the platform’s live‑streaming record, reaching 18.6 million concurrent viewers for the Brazil‑Scotland match. The channel has consecutively broken its own records, broadcasting all 104 tournament games with a casual, interactive style that has attracted a large young audience.

The National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) opened a preliminary investigation into CazéTV after audio‑visual evidence showed betting‑company promotions aired during three matches – England‑Ghana, Argentina‑Austria and Uruguay‑Cape Verde. The probe will examine compliance with Brazil’s betting‑advertising law, the consumer‑protection code and recent ministry regulations, focusing on whether the promos encouraged immediate betting or blurred the line between editorial content and advertising.
