CBF and Funesp partner to develop football in Mato Grosso do Sul

The Municipal Sports Foundation (Funesp) and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) have met to discuss strengthening football in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. During institutional meetings in Campo Grande, officials discussed partnerships regarding the use of the Jacques da Luz and Vila Nasser stadiums for official competitions, noting that the municipality maintains responsibility for the management and scheduling of these spaces.

A key outcome of these discussions was the inauguration of the Football Development Center in Campo Grande. This facility, which is part of the legacy of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, is designed to foster local football, particularly for youth categories. The center features a synthetic grass field, stands, locker rooms, lighting for night matches, and climate-controlled areas.

CBF President Samir Xaud and Funesp President Maicon Mommad emphasized that the center serves as a strategic logistical point to support clubs and athlete formation throughout the state.
