CBF condemns threats against Corinthians president Osmar Stabile

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has issued a formal repudiation of criminal threats and intimidation directed at Corinthians president Osmar Stabile and his family. The threats reportedly occurred during negotiations regarding the contract renewal of player Memphis Depay.

Stabile reported that attackers used knives and firearms to intimidate him, and that personal and banking data belonging to him, his wife, and his daughters were leaked. The president described the situation as a severe violation of privacy and safety, noting that criminals have been contacting his family via messaging apps.

These incidents follow recent protests at Stabile’s residence in São Paulo. Supporters, including the collective Pixadores da Fiel (PDF), displayed banners demanding his resignation and judicial intervention in the club. The protests come amid significant financial and legal challenges for Corinthians, including three active transfer bans and debts exceeding R$ 2.7 billion.
