CBI registers FIR in Disha Salian death case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a fresh First Information Report (FIR) regarding the 2020 death of celebrity manager Disha Salian. This move follows a directive from the Bombay High Court, which criticized the Mumbai Police for failing to register an FIR for six years and noted glaring discrepancies in the initial investigation that treated the case as an accidental death.

In a statement to the CBI, Salian's father, Satish Salian, alleged a criminal conspiracy and a subsequent cover-up. The FIR names several high-profile individuals for investigation, including Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray, Rhea Chakraborty, Dino Morea, and Sooraj Pancholi. The investigation also includes former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, alongside various police officials and medical staff.

Actor Sooraj Pancholi has publicly denied any connection to the case, stating on social media that he never met Salian or Aditya Thackeray and has previously cooperated with law enforcement. The CBI is now conducting a thorough probe, which includes reviewing forensic evidence, post-mortem reports, and potentially reconstructing the scene of the incident.
