Cboe Clear U.S. receives temporary SEC registration

Cboe Clear U.S., LLC (CCUS) has obtained temporary registration from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to operate as a Covered Clearing Agency. This registration expands the entity's capabilities beyond its existing status as a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)-registered Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), allowing it to clear securities products in addition to futures and swaps.

CCUS intends to use this registration to clear binary securities options tied to specific corporate key performance indicators (KPIs). These products are scheduled to list on the Cboe Options Exchange and become available on Robinhood during the fourth quarter of 2026.

To support growth, CCUS has also strengthened its infrastructure by voluntarily adopting enhanced CFTC standards for financial resources, risk management, and operational resilience, aligning itself with standards applied to systemically important DCOs.
