CCBB Salvador to open in historic Palácio da Aclamação

The Government of Bahia and Banco do Brasil have announced the inauguration of the first Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB) in the Northeast, scheduled for November 21 in Salvador. The cultural center will be located in the historic Palácio da Aclamação.

The opening will coincide with Black Consciousness Week and will feature the “Nação Ilê” exhibition, which occupies 800 square meters of the palace's historic annex and focuses on the cultural influence of Ilê Aiyê. In its first stage, the facility will provide approximately 1,000 square meters of exhibition and social spaces, including cinema, theater, and restaurant facilities.

During the announcement at the Museu de Arte da Bahia (MAB), Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues and Banco do Brasil President Tarciana Medeiros emphasized the project's potential to boost the local creative economy and revitalize the surrounding area. Minister of Culture Margareth Menezes also highlighted the importance of expanding cultural infrastructure to increase the visibility of national artistic production.
