Cultural infrastructure development in Salvador

Overview

Salvador is undergoing cultural infrastructure expansion and professional development initiatives. Early reports highlighted the upcoming opening of the Banco do Brasil’s CCBB Salvador headquarters in the historic Palácio da Aclamação, alongside professional training programs like the Backstage Lab seminar and the 7th Municipal Culture Conference aimed at updating the Municipal Culture Plan.

Following these developments, the Government of Bahia and Banco do Brasil confirmed the official inauguration of the CCBB Salvador for November 21. The center, the first of its kind in the Northeast, will occupy the Palácio da Aclamação and feature the “Nação Ilê” exhibition to coincide with Black Consciousness Week. The facility is expected to provide 1,000 square meters of space for cinema, theater, and social activities, with officials noting its potential to boost the local creative economy.
