CCEC launches microfinance credit disbursements in Bouemba

The Caisse Congolaise d’Épargne et de Crédit (CCEC) began disbursing its first round of microfinance loans in the Bouemba district of the Republic of Congo on August 26, 2026. The initial wave includes 200 beneficiaries out of a total of 400 identified for the program.

To ensure broad coverage across the district, the distribution is organized into four geographic axes: Bouemba–Matadi, Ondaba–Ngafoula, Engakou–Ossio, and Mpounou–Obaba. This decentralized approach aims to reach remote localities and overcome physical barriers to financial services.

The initiative is supported by a partnership with the Fondation Cœur Angélique. CCEC Director Blaise Noël Ekouerembaye stated that the primary goal is to promote financial inclusion and empower local populations, particularly the youth, to develop income-generating activities.
