Cádiz kicks off new €19.1 m sports pavilion and awards LED lighting contract

The Cádiz City Council announced that construction of the new Fernando Portillo sports pavilion will begin on 27 July 2026. The €19.1 million project, to be built by Oreco Balgón, will feature a multi‑use arena for up to 2,105 spectators, three underground parking levels for 389 vehicles, and a 263 m² commercial space. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2029.

Separately, the municipal Institute of Sports awarded ACISA a €202,595 contract to replace the halogen‑metal lamps in the existing Ciudad de Cádiz sports complex with 74 LED luminaires. The upgrade reduces the original budget by 30.9 % and includes DALI‑controlled, IP66‑rated fixtures designed for television broadcast lighting.
