Cebu Pacific increases hand-carry allowance to 10 kg
Cebu Pacific will increase its free hand-carry baggage allowance from 7 kg to 10 kg for all flights operated under its 5J code, effective September 15, 2026. This change applies to all 5J flights regardless of when the ticket was booked.
Under the new policy, passengers are permitted one piece of hand-carry baggage for the overhead bin and one smaller personal item to be placed under the seat, with a combined total weight limit of 10 kg. The airline noted that the increase aims to provide greater flexibility for travelers and improve the boarding experience.
However, the new allowance does not apply to Cebgo (DG) flights, which will maintain the existing 7 kg weight limit. Baggage dimensions remain regulated, with cabin bags not exceeding 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm and personal items not exceeding 20 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm. Items exceeding these limits or the weight allowance may be required to be checked in and could incur additional fees.
