Cebu Pacific hand-carry baggage policy update

Overview

Cebu Pacific announced an update to its hand-carry baggage policy, increasing the total weight allowance from 7 kg to 10 kg for all flights operated under its 5J code. The change is scheduled to take effect on September 15, 2026.

Under the new regulations, passengers are permitted one piece of baggage for the overhead bin and one smaller personal item for use under the seat, provided the combined weight does not exceed 10 kg. Specific dimension limits remain in place for both items. The airline stated the update aims to provide travelers with more flexibility and assist crew in managing baggage more efficiently to maintain flight schedules.

This increased allowance does not apply to Cebgo (DG) flights, which will continue to observe the existing 7 kg limit.
