Cedevita Olimpija prepares for EuroCup opener against Burgos

Cedevita Olimpija is set to begin its EuroCup campaign with an away game against Burgos in Spain. The Ljubljana-based team faces a challenging start to the season, dealing with roster changes and early injuries following a recent loss in the Slovenian Supercup.

Captain Jaka Blažič emphasized that the team will need high levels of motivation to overcome Burgos, describing them as a physical team that utilizes high-tempo play and transitions. Head coach Zvezdan Mitrović noted the tactical flexibility of the Spanish side, which can alternate between different lineup combinations.

American player Matthew Hurt, who recently renewed his contract, expressed satisfaction with remaining in Slovenia and being part of the team from the start of the preseason. He noted that while the squad is younger and features more international players, the team has worked hard to prepare for the expanded 32-team EuroCup format.
