Celina Leão leads Distrito Federal runoff polls

Governor Celina Leão (PP) holds a significant lead in the upcoming runoff election for the government of the Distrito Federal. According to Datafolha polling released on October 22, Leão has 54% of the voting intentions, while her opponent, Leandro Grass (PT), has 37%. This 17-point advantage remains outside the three-percentage-point margin of error.

Leandro Grass has focused his final campaign efforts on Ceilândia, proposing improvements to public transportation, including expanding bus lines and extending metro tracks. His platform also includes creating a cultural center and offering microcredit to street vendors.

Political analysts have noted that Leão has maintained her momentum since the first round, where she narrowly missed re-election. Meanwhile, discussions regarding the political support Grass receives from the Workers' Party (PT) and the impact of previous administration controversies, such as the Banco de Brasília (BRB) financial issues, continue to shape the electoral landscape.
