Celta de Vigo officials praise squad stability after summer transfer window

Celta de Vigo leadership has expressed satisfaction with the club’s summer transfer window, emphasizing squad continuity and stability. Manager Claudio Giráldez praised the club's ability to retain key players, whom he described as ‘caramelo’ (highly sought after), despite interest from other teams. This marks the first time in 13 years that the club has not generated revenue through player sales, a decision aligned with the policy of not selling players simply for the sake of it.

Football Director Marco Garcés described the resulting squad as balanced, planned, and competitive. While the club did not finalize major sales to ease its financial situation, the transfer window involved approximately 11 million euros in spending across 19 operations. Key signings include goalkeeper Altay Bayindir from Manchester United and defender Sebastián Cáceres. Garcés noted that while the lack of sales creates a financial challenge, the club aims to compensate through performance in the Europa League.
