Celta de Vigo proposes 10 million euro capital increase for Celta360

Celta de Vigo is set to propose a 10 million euro capital increase at its upcoming shareholders' meeting on October 20. The funds are earmarked entirely for the Celta360 project, which involves developments at the Afouteza Sports City.

Existing shareholders will hold preferential rights to subscribe to new shares at a price of 600 euros each. The club has reached an agreement with a foreign investment fund to acquire any shares not taken up by current members, ensuring the capital is raised. The majority shareholder, Grupo Ges, will not participate in this initial round, though the club maintains that current ownership control will not be jeopardized.

In its financial reporting, the club disclosed a loss of 7.7 million euros for the 2025-26 season, marking its sixth consecutive year of losses. This deficit was attributed to a lack of player sales. However, total revenue grew by 43.7% to over 106 million euros, bolstered by a 58% increase in income from European competition participation following a strong Europa League campaign. The budget for the 2026-27 season is projected at 107 million euros.
