Celta Vigo eyes additional signings as transfer window closes

Celta Vigo coach Claudio Giraldez said the club expects further arrivals and departures before the August transfer window ends. So far the La Liga side has added midfielder Aleix Febas from Elche, left‑back Javi Galan from Osasuna and centre‑back Abdoulaye Faye on loan from Bayer Leverkusen. Departures include Oscar Mingueza moving to the Premier League, Hugo Sotelo joining Levante and centre‑back Unai Núñez heading to Espanyol on loan. Earlier this summer the club also transferred midfielder Carlos Dotor to newly promoted Malaga.

In addition, the club is close to completing the signing of a versatile attacker who can play on either wing or as an attacking midfielder. Unlike previous free transfers, this deal will involve a significant financial outlay. Giraldez stressed that the squad is not yet complete and that more business is expected in the coming days.
