Cemig launches solar energy program for rural producers in Minas Gerais
Cemig and Sistema Faemg Senar have launched the ‘Cemig Agro Solar 24h’ program in Minas Gerais to promote solar energy adoption in the agricultural sector. The initiative focuses on providing solar power systems equipped with battery storage, which allows energy generated during the day to be used during peak consumption periods or during supply interruptions.
Through Cemig’s Energy Efficiency Program (PEE), selected rural producers can receive financial incentives covering up to 60% of the equipment acquisition costs. The program prioritizes small-scale milk producers who generate less than 1,000 liters per day, though it is not limited to that specific group. The goal is to reduce electricity costs, improve energy efficiency, and enhance supply security for rural properties.
