Chihuahua strengthens cultural infrastructure and artistic training

Chihuahua is implementing several initiatives to strengthen its cultural infrastructure and professionalize its artistic sector. The local legislature has approved a mandate requiring the Secretary of Culture and municipal governments to actively conserve cultural equipment and infrastructure through maintenance, preservation, and reconstruction.

New spaces for artistic engagement have emerged, including the opening of the Águeda Lozano Museum of Contemporary Art (MACAL) in the city's historic center. The museum features a collection by the internationally recognized artist Águeda Lozano and serves as a venue for promoting contemporary art.

Educational and training programs are also expanding. Casa Chihuahua is hosting a free audiovisual workshop titled ‘Cineminuto’ for youth, while the Municipal Government of Chihuahua has launched the ‘Saldo a Favor’ seminar to provide artists with tools for structuring and developing professional cultural projects.
