Cencosud reorganizes corporate structure and closes four Easy stores

Cencosud has announced a corporate reorganization involving the merger of two of its subsidiaries. Easy Retail S.A. will absorb Cencosud Retail S.A. to simplify the group's corporate structure, reduce administrative complexities, and strengthen the coordination of business strategies. The company stated that this move is part of its “One Cencosud” process and is not expected to have significant effects on its consolidated financial statements.

In a separate move, the company is closing four Easy home improvement stores in Chile. The affected locations include Cenco Portal Ñuñoa and Cenco El Llano in Santiago, as well as stores in Temuco and Osorno. Cencosud explained that the closures aim to focus operations on larger-format stores to provide a more comprehensive customer proposal.

Regarding the workforce, the company noted that it evaluated various alternatives for the affected employees. In cases where internal alternatives were not possible, employment relationships were terminated. The company will maintain a presence in the southern regions through other existing branches in Temuco and Osorno.
