Centenarian milestones and passing reported in Italy

Two notable centenarians in Italy have recently marked significant life milestones. In Brivio, Celestina Paveri celebrated her 106th birthday at the RSA Frigerio nursing home. Born in 1920, Paveri was honored by family, staff, and local clergy with a celebration featuring music and a custom cake. Her family appears to share a trait of longevity, as her sister is expected to celebrate her 108th birthday on August 22.

In Falzè di Piave, the community is mourning the passing of Tarcisio Liberale Breda, who died at the age of 101. A founding member and dean of the local Alpini group, Breda was regarded as a living historical memory of the 20th century. He had served during the war years and was a prominent figure in local social and culinary traditions. His funeral is scheduled for August 12.
