Central Bank of Brazil reorganizes foreign exchange intervention data

The Central Bank of Brazil has reorganized how it presents data regarding foreign exchange interventions to increase transparency. The updates, located on the Exchange Policy page of the bank's website, include the stock history and maturity schedules for Currency Swaps and Repurchase Lines, which are key instruments used to ensure the regular functioning of the foreign exchange market.

This initiative does not change the format for disclosing foreign exchange auctions but instead reorganizes existing information from the Open Data Portal to provide more direct visualization. The new system includes updated schedules and a graphic tool featuring a ten-year stock history, allowing users to download data and images in various formats.

Additionally, the Central Bank has added three new daily data series to its Time Series Management System (SGS): the stock of Repurchase Lines, the notional value of Currency Swaps, and the number of Currency Swap contracts. Monetary Policy Director Nilton David stated that consolidating these series simplifies information access and reaffirms the institution's commitment to transparency and economic stability.
