The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) marked its 79th anniversary with the “Sólo pianistas” recital held at the Juan Pablo Duarte Library. The event featured young Dominican musicians, including Melany Luis Valle, José Abiel Mateo de León, María Nina, and Oscar Pozo, who are students at the National Conservatory of Music and the Círculo de Música de la Ciudad Colonial.
The performers played works by classical composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Robert Schumann, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy, Felix Blumenfeld, Sergei Prokofiev, and Heitor Villa-Lobos. The ceremony was led by BCRD Governor Héctor Valdez Albizu and attended by various bank officials, including Vice Governor Clarissa de la Rocha de Torres and Manager Ervin Novas Bello.
José Gabriel Alcántara Almánzar, sub-manager of the Cultural Department, noted the importance of supporting national artistic talent and helping young performers develop international careers through such cultural initiatives.
