Dominican Republic reports labor market growth and economic training milestones

The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) concluded its 12th internal diploma in economics and finance, certifying 74 employees. Since 2015, the program has trained a total of 1,091 collaborators in technical subjects including monetary policy, inflation, and the national financial system.

Regarding the national economy, data from the National Continuous Labor Force Survey (ENCFT) for the first half of 2026 indicates a reacceleration of the Dominican labor market. The total number of employed persons reached 5,271,005 by the end of June 2026, representing a net increase of 102,127 workers compared to the end of 2025. This reflects a 2.8% year-on-year growth in employment.

In international diplomacy, Milagros Ortiz Bosch, Director General of Government Ethics and Integrity (DIGEIG), highlighted the Dominican Republic’s progress in Open Government during the 81st UN General Assembly. She emphasized the country's commitment to transparent and participatory public management through direct dialogue with citizens.
