Central Greece begins 1,000,000 euro road restoration on Amphissa–Delphi route
The Region of Central Greece has initiated a road restoration project on National Road 48, connecting Amphissa and Delphi. The project, which has an initial budget of 1,000,000 euros, was funded through the Regional Development Program of Central Greece 2021-2025.
The works will focus on the area between Chrisso and Delphi, specifically targeting Prophet Elias, the Upper Chrisso Junction, the entrance to Delphi, and the Athena Pronaia archaeological site. Technical interventions include milling the existing road surface, applying smoothing and anti-skid asphalt layers, and fully restoring horizontal road markings. Additionally, new vertical signage, delineators, and reflectors will be installed.
Regional Governor Fanis Spanos stated that the project addresses the needs of residents and the thousands of visitors to the Delphi archaeological site by improving road safety and traffic conditions. Vice Governor of Phocis, Peggy Aravanidou, emphasized that securing these entry points to Phocis is a priority for the region.
