Central Greece road infrastructure projects
Overview
The Region of Central Greece has launched several infrastructure initiatives focused on road safety and restoration.
In the Evrytania regional unit, Governor Fanis Spanos approved 637,608 euros for a project covering approximately 539 kilometers of national and provincial roads. Part of the 2026-2030 Regional Development Program, these interventions aim to maintain traffic flow in the mountainous region through snow removal, anti-freeze application, and the clearing of landslides and rockfalls.
Simultaneously, a 1,000,000 euro restoration project has begun on National Road 48, connecting Amphissa and Delphi. Funded by the 2021-2025 Regional Development Program, this work targets the route between Chrisso and Delphi, including the Athena Pronaia archaeological site. The project involves milling road surfaces, applying anti-skid asphalt, restoring markings, and installing new signage and reflectors to improve conditions for residents and tourists.
