Central Java celebrates successful hosting of 2026 National MTQ

Thousands of residents gathered at Pancasila Field, Simpang Lima, Semarang, for the ‘Jawa Tengah Bersholawat’ event to celebrate the successful hosting of the 31st National Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) in 2026.

Central Java achieved a significant rise in the national rankings, moving from 16th place in previous competitions to 2nd place, accumulating a total of 208 points. Governor Ahmad Luthfi expressed gratitude to the religious scholars, government officials, and the community for their support in making the event a success.

During the celebration, Governor Luthfi symbolically presented Rp282 million in rewards to the Central Java delegation for their achievements. The event was attended by Vice Governor and LPTQ Central Java Chairman Taj Yasin Maimoen and Regional Secretary Sumarno. Taj Yasin noted that the MTQ event provided social and economic benefits to the region and fostered significant social tolerance.
