Central Java distributes Rp511 million in poverty relief aid to Wonogiri
The Central Java Provincial Government is implementing a poverty alleviation strategy in Wonogiri Regency through the 'Desa Dampingan' (Assisted Village) program. During a visit to Minggarharjo Village in Eromoko District, Vice Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen observed the distribution of approximately Rp511.11 million in aid designed to provide both basic necessities and productive economic capital.
The intervention, managed by RSJD dr. Arif Zainudin Surakarta, focuses on sectors identified through community assessments, such as agriculture, livestock, and MSMEs. Specific aid includes Rp40 million for improving four uninhabitable houses, Rp20 million for Joint Business Groups (KUBE), Rp12 million for business capital packages, and Rp19.11 million for sanitation projects.
Private sector collaboration also played a significant role. PT Djarum contributed Rp370 million for five livable simple houses, while PT Jamkrida Jateng provided Rp50 million for the construction of 15 sanitation units. The Vice Governor emphasized that addressing poverty requires multi-sector collaboration between the government, hospitals, regional-owned enterprises, and the private sector.
