Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi reports economic growth and investment gains

During the 81st anniversary celebrations of Central Java and the 81st Independence Day of Indonesia, Governor Ahmad Luthfi emphasized the importance of collective work to achieve regional prosperity. Speaking at ceremonies in Boyolali and Semarang, Luthfi highlighted that development is a collaborative effort between the government and various sectors, including farmers, laborers, MSMEs, teachers, and healthcare workers.

Luthfi reported several key economic indicators for Central Java during the first half of 2026. The region's economic growth reached 5.80 percent, surpassing the national average of 5.45 percent. Investment realization totaled Rp59.94 trillion, comprising Rp25.92 trillion in foreign investment, Rp22.62 trillion in domestic investment, and Rp11.40 trillion from MSMEs. Additionally, the unemployment rate decreased to 4.24 percent, and the poverty rate fell to 9.21 percent.

In terms of social services, the provincial government has focused on education and health. Initiatives include providing free education for hundreds of thousands of students in public and private schools, offering scholarships to families in need, and implementing free health check-up programs integrated with mobile specialist services.
