Vietnam faces diverse weather, flooding, and air pollution
Vietnam is experiencing diverse weather and environmental conditions across various regions. In Northern Vietnam, sunny weather is expected to persist through mid-October, though this has led to increased air pollution levels in the Red River Delta and Hanoi, with air quality reaching poor and bad thresholds.
Central Vietnam is facing heavy rainfall, with significant risks of flash floods and landslides in provinces such as Ha Tinh and Quang Tri. In the South, Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas are dealing with high tide levels that have reached their highest points this year, causing deep flooding in low-lying areas. To address long-term flooding, the city plans to invest approximately 142,000 billion VND into 87 projects to resolve 50 flood points by 2030.
In the agricultural sector, Gia Lai province is focusing on increasing the value of its passion fruit industry by investing in processing facilities to produce frozen juice and concentrates for export to markets like Russia, China, and Canada.
