Central Vietnam is facing severe weather as a tropical depression moves northwest toward the coast between Ha Tinh and Hue. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns of heavy rainfall that could exceed 800mm in some areas between September 11 and 14, specifically targeting Ha Tinh, Hue, Quang Tri, and Da Nang.

Heavy rain is expected to persist across various regions, including the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam, with potential for intense rainfall exceeding 100mm within three-hour periods. This weather pattern increases the risk of flash floods, landslides, and urban flooding. In Dong Nai, water levels in the Dong Nai River have exceeded alarm level 2, prompting warnings for residents in low-lying areas.

The National Steering Committee for Civil Defense has instructed 14 provinces to prepare for floods and the potential formation of storm number 6. Authorities are also monitoring river levels in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Quang Tri, which are expected to rise significantly.
