Cerámicas Gala workers suspend strike as negotiations resume

Workers at Cerámicas Gala have suspended the first of eight planned strike days scheduled to begin on Thursday, September 24. This decision comes as a gesture of goodwill following the reopening of negotiations between the company's management and the works committee regarding the collective bargaining agreement.

The suspension applies only to the first scheduled day. The remaining seven strike dates—set for September 29, and October 1, 6, 7, 8, 14, and 15—remain active pending the outcome of ongoing discussions. The works committee expressed hope that management will present “assumable” proposals to resolve the long-standing disagreements over wage and labor conditions that led to the strike call.
