Cerámicas Gala labor dispute and agreement
Overview
Labor disputes at the Cerámicas Gala plant in Burgos, Spain, began in late September 2026 following disagreements over wages and labor conditions. Initially, workers suspended the first of eight planned strike days as a gesture of goodwill to allow negotiations between management and the works committee to resume. The committee had requested “assumable” proposals to resolve the conflict.
By early October, the industrial action concluded after workers approved a new two-year collective bargaining agreement. The deal includes wage increases described as being “slightly higher” than the annual inflation rate and establishes voluntary early retirement options for employees over the age of 62. The resolution ended protests regarding perceived differences in treatment compared to other plants within the Roca Group.
