Cerro Maggiore launches disinfestation following suspected Dengue case
Authorities in Cerro Maggiore have launched an extraordinary disinfestation operation following a suspected case of Dengue fever. The intervention, which runs until October 8, specifically targets Via Ing. Celaschi and surrounding areas to prevent the spread of the virus, which is transmitted via infected mosquitoes such as the tiger mosquito.
The suspected case may also involve the municipalities of Legnano and San Vittore Olona, prompting scheduled disinfestation in areas frequently visited by the individual. Local officials have advised residents to close windows and doors, protect pets, remove standing water from containers, and use repellents, while emphasizing that the disease is not transmitted through direct person-to-person contact.
