Cervo and Viterbo install new defibrillators to protect beachgoers and athletes

Two Italian municipalities have added automatic external defibrillators (DAE) to public venues. On the Ligurian coast of Cervo, two new DAE were installed on the beach through a partnership between the town council, Confcommercio and a private sponsor. The project, part of a safety and inclusivity campaign, aims to provide rapid aid for cardiac arrests among swimmers, tourists and families. Mayor‑councillor Maurizio Guglielmone said, “L’amministrazione di Cervo è impegnata da tempo per l’installazione anche sul litorale di queste apparecchiature…”.

In Viterbo, Lazio, the municipal Bocciodromo received a semi‑automatic external defibrillator donated by the Ruben Ciarlanti association in memory of a young man who died of sudden cardiac arrest. The device was presented after a CPR training session and will serve athletes, club members and the broader community, with maintenance funded by the town administration.
