Cesc Fabregas has special release clause for former clubs

Cesc Fabregas, the manager of Como 1907, has a special release clause in his contract that allows him to leave for three specific former clubs: Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona. The clause, which reportedly involves a symbolic or predetermined fee, enables these clubs to secure his services without lengthy negotiations with the Italian side.

Fabregas is currently under contract with Como until June 2028. While he has achieved significant success with the club, including promotion to Serie A and qualifying for the Champions League, the clause provides a pathway for a potential return to the elite level of European football.

Despite the existence of this mechanism, there is no immediate indication of a departure. Reports suggest Fabregas is satisfied with the Como project and is not in a hurry to move, having previously declined interest from clubs such as Inter Milan, AS Roma, and Bayer Leverkusen. Furthermore, the managerial positions at the three clubs mentioned—Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona—are currently stable under Mikel Arteta, Enzo Maresca, and Hansi Flick, respectively.
