Cesc Fabregas management of Como 1907

Following a 2-1 victory over Parma that moved Como 1907 to third place in the Serie A standings, coach Cesc Fabregas emphasized the need for clinical finishing and squad depth to manage the fatigue of competing in the Champions League. Fabregas expressed a tactical desire for his team to emulate Arsenal by maximizing goal contributions from set-pieces and defenders.

As Fabregas’s managerial reputation has grown, reports from journalist Gianluca Di Marzio indicate his contract includes a specific release clause. This clause allows him to join three former clubs—Arsenal, Chelsea, or FC Barcelona—for a “predetermined, symbolic fee” without requiring further negotiations with Como.

Fabregas is currently under contract with the Italian club until June 2028 and also holds a minority stake in the organization. While he has successfully led Como to their highest league finish since 1987 and secured historic Champions League qualification, the clause provides a streamlined path for him to return to elite European management. Although he has previously declined interest from clubs such as Inter Milan, AS Roma, and Bayer Leverkusen, there is no immediate indication of a move. The managerial positions at the clubs mentioned in his clause currently appear stable, with Hansi Flick leading Barcelona, Mikel Arteta leading Arsenal, and Enzo Maresca leading Chelsea.
