Cesenatico and Udine launch new ‘Stazione di Posta’ centres for vulnerable residents

The municipalities of Cesenatico and Udine have each inaugurated a new Stazione di Posta, a social‑service centre aimed at supporting people in poverty, homelessness and other forms of marginality.

Cesenatico’s facility on via Saffi was built with more than €1.03 million in PNRR funds, including €910 000 transferred to the town. It offers a ground‑floor reception area for counselling and a dormitory with 12 beds, two of which are reserved for hospital discharge patients, plus a single‑room for short‑term stays. Energy‑saving measures such as insulation and photovoltaic panels were installed during renovation.

Udine’s centre, located in the former fire‑brigade command building on via Cussignacco, was restored with an investment of €1.1 million—€910 000 from the PNRR and €190 000 from the municipal budget. It provides accommodation, guidance and personalised pathways for socially vulnerable citizens, operating as part of the “Friuli Centrale” territorial service network. Both openings were attended by local mayors, regional officials and representatives of the third sector, highlighting a coordinated effort to expand social infrastructure across the region.
