Ceuta border: Officers claim over 100,000 migrants entered during mass influx

Law enforcement officers in Ceuta, including members of the Guardia Civil and National Police, have disputed official government accounts regarding the scale of a mass migration event occurring between July 30 and July 31. While official reports suggested a lower number of arrivals, officers on the front lines claim that between 100,000 and 110,000 people entered the territory.

Testimonies from agents at the Espigón del Tarajal describe a total collapse of operational capacity. They report that by 2:30 AM, approximately 84,000 entries had already been recorded, with arrival rates reaching 100 people per minute. During the morning of July 31, the pressure reportedly intensified to 200 people per minute.

Officers noted that the influx involved a continuous stream of people approaching via the pier and by swimming. Some agents also indicated that intelligence from the CNI had previously warned of up to 180,000 people prepared to attempt the crossing.
