Ceuta migrant triage reaches cruising speed with 300 judicial expulsions
The Spanish Ministry of the Interior has reported that the migrant triage process in Ceuta has reached “cruising speed” following the deployment of additional technical and human resources. This procedure involves the classification and resolution of asylum applications, voluntary returns, or expulsion files.
According to official figures released on September 14, 2026, the operation has resulted in 5,300 voluntary returns and 300 judicial expulsions. The increased staffing has aimed to prevent administrative bottlenecks and ensure legal guarantees during the processing of cases, including those involving criminal indicators.
