Ceuta security concerns rise as migrants reportedly set cliffside traps for military

Security concerns are escalating in Ceuta following reports of migrants setting traps to deter military personnel. Social media footage shows individuals placing loose stones over cardboard near steep cliffs, specifically designed to cause soldiers to fall into the void while attempting to access makeshift settlements.

In addition to these physical hazards, local reports indicate a rise in crime and violence. Recent statistics cite 27 sexual assaults and 54 robberies involving violence in the area. Tensions have also manifested in physical altercations, including an incident where a security guard at the Temporary Stay Center for Immigrants (CETI) was injured, and a large-scale brawl between different migrant groups in the Loma Colmenar camp.
