Ceuta President Juan Jesús Vivas denounces migration crisis
Juan Jesús Vivas, the President of Ceuta, has used a televised appearance on 'El Hormiguero' to highlight the ongoing migration crisis affecting the autonomous city. Vivas described the situation as an “invasion” and a threat to national sovereignty, noting that the crisis has been ongoing since July.
The President reported significant economic consequences, alleging that the city is losing approximately 1,000,000 euros per day due to the current circumstances. He criticized the Spanish central government's lack of diplomatic action toward Morocco, calling the absence of a formal complaint “inexplicable” and “unacceptable.”
Vivas emphasized that the security issues and mass border crossings should be treated as matters of national security rather than political issues. He also noted that he has taken the matter to the Supreme Court to seek resolution.
