In Ceuta, the dispute over the migration crisis has intensified. President Juan Jesús Vivas expressed a complete lack of trust in Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, criticizing the central government and Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska for their response to the mass migration influx. Vivas described their actions as characterized by ‘indolence’ and ‘irresponsibility,’ alleging that the government ignored warnings from the National Intelligence Centre (CNI) and failed to implement necessary management plans.

In response, the PSOE has accused Vivas and the PP of attempting to use the crisis to ‘collect votes.’ Montse Mínguez, a spokesperson for the PSOE Federal Executive, further alleged that the regional government in Ceuta is attempting to award lucrative contracts related to minor management to individuals close to the administration, specifically citing two million-euro contracts. The PSOE previously emphasized that migrants cannot be returned ‘like an Amazon package’ due to legal and human rights obligations.

Other regional disputes persist: in Vigo, the PP has called for Mayor Abel Caballero to address corruption investigations involving PSOE members; in Valencia, the PSPV has accused the PP of paralyzing the region; and in Madrid, the PSOE continues to seek transparency regarding the costs of hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
