Cevdet Yılmaz targets 'Terror-free Turkey' and $1.8 trillion national income

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Justice Minister Akın Gürlek have emphasized the ‘Terror-free Turkey’ initiative, framing the elimination of terrorism as essential for national development and security. During visits to Osmaniye and Sinop, Yılmaz stated that terrorism has imposed a massive economic burden on the country, estimated to be at least $2.3 trillion over several decades due to its impact on agriculture, tourism, investment, and mining.

Yılmaz projected that Turkey’s national income will reach $1.8 trillion this year, up from $238 billion in 2002. He also noted that exports are expected to reach $280 billion, while tourism revenues are projected to hit $65 billion despite regional conflicts. He linked economic stability directly to the political stability achieved over the last 23 years.

In Bilecik, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek added that the goal of a terror-free Turkey is not merely a security matter but a way to strengthen national brotherhood and secure the country’s collective future by removing obstacles to progress.
