CFE to invest 7.7 billion pesos in Querétaro electrical infrastructure
The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has announced a plan to invest more than 7.7 billion pesos in Querétaro between 2025 and 2029 to strengthen the state's electrical infrastructure. The announcement was made by CFE Director General Emilia Esther Calleja Alor during a working meeting with Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González and various municipal leaders.
The investment is divided into two main areas: distribution and transmission. Approximately 1.284 billion pesos are earmarked for 758 distribution projects, which include the construction of new substations, infrastructure expansions, and the modernization of electrical networks. Meanwhile, over 6.5 billion pesos will be directed toward transmission projects, including the development of a smart grid and new transmission lines.
During the meeting, municipal presidents presented specific local energy needs to federal and state authorities. Secretary of Sustainable Development Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero noted that coordination efforts with the CFE have already led to a reduction in service interruptions of up to 25 percent.
