CFMoto develops V4SR-RR superbike with potential turbocharger
CFMoto is advancing development of its V4SR-RR superbike, with new patent filings in China suggesting the potential for a turbocharged configuration. The eleven new patents provide technical insights into the 997 cc V4 engine, including details on variable intake and the engine's role as a structural component of the motorcycle frame.
The 997 cc, 90-degree V4 engine is designed for high performance, featuring specifications comparable to top-tier superbikes like the Ducati Panigale V4 R. The engine is expected to produce over 207 hp with a maximum RPM of 14,500. Previous testing has already seen the model reach a GPS-verified speed of 315.82 km/h, making it the fastest Chinese motorcycle to date.
While the patents mention a turbocharger, it remains unclear if this will be implemented in the production superbike or reserved for other vehicle models. The project has already undergone testing with professional riders such as David Alonso and Máximo Quiles.
