CFMOTO international motorcycle racing expansion

Overview

CFMOTO has secured an agreement with the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and the Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO) to serve as the exclusive motorcycle supplier for the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) from 2027 to 2029. During this term, the championship will transition from the Yamaha R7 to the CFMOTO 675SR-R, a platform featuring a 675cc liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine producing 95 CV. This technical shift also includes Michelin replacing Pirelli as the exclusive tire supplier.

Parallel to the WorldWCR expansion, CFMOTO is advancing its presence in premier racing. Reports indicate a potential 2027 debut in the WorldSBK class, with the Aspar team cited as a leading candidate. Testing of the V4 SR-RR prototype has reportedly commenced, with riders Dani Holgado and Máximo Quiles involved in recent sessions.

Technical developments for the V4 SR-RR continue through new patent filings in China. These patents provide insights into a 997 cc, 90-degree V4 engine designed to function as a structural component of the motorcycle frame. The engine is expected to produce over 207 hp with a maximum RPM of 14,500, aiming for performance levels comparable to top-tier superbikes. While the patents suggest the potential for a turbocharged configuration, it remains unclear if a turbocharger will be implemented in the production superbike. The model has already achieved a GPS-verified speed of 315.82 km/h, marking it as the fastest Chinese motorcycle to date.
