Cfmoto V4 SR-RR Sets Chinese Speed Record with Pininfarina Aerodynamic Work

Chinese motorcycle maker CFMOTO broke its own speed record in June, reaching 315.82 km/h with the V4 SR‑RR prototype, making it the fastest Chinese bike ever built. The achievement was not solely due to the bike’s 210 hp engine and sub‑200 kg weight; it also relied on extensive aerodynamic development carried out in Italy with design firm Pininfarina.

At Pininfarina’s full‑scale wind tunnel, engineers tested a 1:1 replica of the prototype equipped with a leather‑clad dummy, pressure sensors and flow‑tracking filaments. The data allowed fine‑tuning of movable winglets, reduction of drag, and improved cooling and stability at extreme speeds. While the V4 SR‑RR remains a prototype, the wind‑tunnel results have prompted a redesign of the fairing and suggest the model could soon move toward production.
