CGEM urges Morocco to prioritize innovation and AI for growth

During the ‘Entrepreneurs en mouvement’ forum held in Casablanca, leaders of the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM) called for a strategic shift in the nation's economic model. CGEM President Mehdi Tazi and Vice-President Mohamed Bachiri urged Morocco to transition from a competitiveness model based on production costs to one driven by innovation, productivity, and high value-added activities.

Key priorities identified to support national economic growth include the accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence, increased support for very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises (TPME), and the development of new industrial sectors. The forum, held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, also saw the signing of two partnership agreements focused on innovation, training, and health.
