CGIBS and Brazilian Federal Revenue release updated tax documentation

The Goods and Services Tax Management Committee (CGIBS) and the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB) have released version 1.3.0 of the technical documentation for the tax system. This update includes the User Orientation Manual (MOD), technical layouts for XML events and tables, validation rules, and XML Schema Definition (XSD) files. These documents are intended to guide the adaptation of corporate systems for taxpayers in specific sectors, such as financial services, health insurance plans, and forecasting contests.

Separately, reports indicate that the São Paulo State Finance and Planning Secretariat (Sefaz-SP) currently lacks representatives heading any of the nine technical directorates within the CGIBS Executive Board. While the municipality of São Paulo holds a vice-presidency in the Superior Council and other municipal officials are involved in internal auditing, the executive roles covering taxation, technology, and collection are currently held by officials from other states and municipalities, including Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, and Amazonas.
